Following the success of our first ‘Girls Allowed’ female-only construction taster session in December, we’re pleased to announce four next dates to take us through the first half of 2016.
For our first session back in December, we were delighted to have six girls, including the gang from the ‘Go Girls’ project, come and try their hand at Brickwork and Carpentry, and better still, they had the workshop all to themselves! It was also an honour to have Scott from That’s Oxford TV come and do some filming of the session and interview a couple of the girls, as well as our own Lyndsey;
We enjoyed the day and we know the girls who came did. Jess Wharton, who appears in the video above said; “I loved the carpentry and can’t wait to go back after Christmas to do an apprenticeship with them”.
Our next sessions will all be organised when our full-time students are off, and during academic half-terms, so the workshop and all facilities will be exclusively for those who attend.
